Our second Monday Crochet session was actually held on a Wednesday, which is bound to happen from time to time. I worked on a pink market bag (above) and Christeen worked on holiday present.
The market bag pattern was pretty easy to follow, though as usual, mine didn’t come out perfectly. I took it to the farmer’s market a few Saturdays ago as I was excited to test it out. The problem was that once I threw some produce in, the bag stretched like crazy. Seriously, I popped in a butternut squash and the bag almost hit the ground.
So, next time I am going to make the length of the body smaller and stitch a bit tighter (if that is even possibile-I am apparently tense and crochet too tight to begin with).
Now… We are already behind on our blogging but have lots going on (think boleros and hook cases), so stay tuned.

Although it may be stretched too much to be most efficient.. it still is beautiful!
Love your market bag – but I understand why the stretching actually makes it impractical – maybe if you try using a coarser material to make it with as well as the modifications you thought of.(in the Bahamas they sold them in the straw market) I’d like you to teach me how to make one – please?
