Still A Slave to My Bolero

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Almost there… Just thought I’d let you know.  It’s really Christeen’s turn to blog, but she’s in Italy right now (bitch).

So, I need to finish up the sleeves on this, tie in the loose ends, and see if I look like a total jerk wearing it or not.  I think it’ll be okay though, and even if it looks a little weird, I’m not tearing this thing out (again)… IT WILL BE WORN.

PS – Off to Cali next week – Monday Crochet is on pause… to resume in a few weeks!

Snow Day Crochet

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Yesterday was my first grown up snow day.  The office was closed due to the “inclement weather” and I couldnt’ have been happier.  I parked myself on the couch with some coffee and yarn, and watched Sense and Sensibility.  I had no intention of going anywhere until the next day.

Alas, the man had stayed home sick, and by late afternoon I knew I had to get out of the house.  I needed to escape his nasty cough for a bit.  So on my snow day, I braved the frigid weather, hopped on the F train, and got myself to The Point for some Monday Crochet.

I was in the company of the four lovely ladies mentioned in the last post.  I worked on the Short and Sweet Bolero, and made some good progress.  Christeen worked on a scarf for her grandmother.  Aly & Katie did some more practice – they are both definitely hooked on the hook by the way… And Stephanie was knitting a baby blankie.

Of course, it was well worth the trip in to the city.  And I’m already looking forward to the next one.  Plus, I’ve got my eye on some gorgeous multicolored yarn… I don’t have something specific in mind yet, but I’m going to go ahead and say I deserve it anyway.

Hoping I can show you a finished (and wearable) bolero soon!
